Charles ‘Charlie’ T. Hatch‚ Jr. was a Firefighter-EMT-Paramedic with West Bridgewater Fire Department. He was a member of Local 2610. He succumbed to a heart attack after a box alarm. Charlie was a dedicated Firefighter for 33 years. He started on-call at the age of 15 for Hanson Fire Department. We sadly lost him at the very young age of 48.

Charlie lived every day to the fullest!!! He worked hard and he played hard. He is often remembered by family and friends for his off-beat sense of humor‚ and his love of practical jokes. Everyone loves to share what our girls refer to as ‘Charlie Stories.’ They give us a great deal of comfort‚ and everyone seems to have a favorite.

Charlie had many interests and hobbies. He was:

• Founder and owner of Cyclopse Power Equipment
• President of Cranberry Flywheelers
• Member of EEA War Birds (crash crew)
• Friend of Bill W.
• Mason Masonic Temple

Charlie was a pilot and eventually owned his own Cessna airplane (his pride and joy). He loved to fly. He always said it was where he found serenity.

Charlie was a loving and devoted son‚ husband‚ father‚ stepfather‚ grandfather and a friend to many. He is survived by his mother‚ Alice (Goddard) Hatch; wife‚ Elizabeth (King) Hatch; daughters Kristine L. (Hatch) Smith‚ Jennifer M. Hatch‚ and Jessica L. Hatch; stepdaughters Amanda L. Miranda‚ Judith H. Miranda‚ and Nicole E. Miranda; brothers Phillip Hatch and David Gill; and six grandchildren.

It was our family’s prayer that Charlie leave this earth with the same honor‚ grace‚ and dignity that he lived his life. Our family is eternally grateful to all of Charlie’s brothers and sisters in the Fire Service for providing us with this gift.
