Firefighter
Year of Death: 2024

Christopher J. Bach

Firefighter Christopher James Bach, 52, of the Fire Department City of New York – Engine 329, died on November 16, 2024, from illness related to response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. He was a decorated firefighter who responded to both the collapse of the World Trade Center and the crash of Flight 587 in the same year. During Hurricane Sandy, Christopher helped rescue neighbors in Breezy Point who were trapped in their homes by floodwaters.

Christopher was a unique individual who traveled his own path in life. He embodied so many qualities that people say that they want to have—free spirit, thirst for knowledge, love of life, love of nature, a kind heart that wanted to help and give to others. He also had a love of all things weird, silly, wacky, and completely off the wall. Christopher could make you laugh, make you question everything (including yourself), make you cry, make you feel like you were the most important person in the world, and he loved deeply with a soul that was compassionate, kind, and empathetic. Christopher had the courage to take his own path or wave, and that’s rare.

Chris was amazing to be around because he was always upbeat, positive, fun, and one of a kind. He believed in magic, mischief, and adventure. His crazy dance moves and laugh will forever be etched in the minds of everyone that was lucky enough to know him. Chris was insightful, a deep thinker who wasn’t afraid to have a different opinion. Even as a young teen, when everyone else was trying to fit in, Chris wasn’t worried about what was popular or trendy. He didn’t care about his image or what everyone else thought of him. He was who he was, and he stayed true to himself.

The loss of Christopher is immense, but his star shined brightly and will continue to shine in the hearts of all the people that love him. Christopher leaves behind his mother, Rita Marie Adase; sister, Carinne Rae Bach-Moran; stepfather, Rick Adase; stepsister, Carrie Adase; stepbrother, Rich Adase; brother-in-law, Robert Moran; nephew, Colin Moran; nieces, Hazel Moran and Teagan Moran; and a multitude of loving family and friends. Christopher’s star now joins with his father Kevin Timothy Bach’s star in the ether of the universe.

Christopher shines brightly upon all of us who still feel his love and will always hold him within our hearts and souls.
