Clifford Smelcer

Clifford W. Smelcer was born in Greene County, Tennessee. He was a dedicated servant and a proud United States Army veteran. He played a vital role in the Sunnyside Volunteer Fire Department as a lieutenant. He was a member of the Masons and a retired postal mechanic.

Clifford loved cars and racing. He was a member of multiple race teams, ranging from early NASCAR to late model, and the latest was truck driver for the ARCA series.

Clifford was a devoted family man. He left behind his wife, Elaine Smelcer; daughter, Michelle Badger; son, Chad Smelcer; stepdaughters, Heather Willett, Melissa Walton, and Martha Fleming; grandchildren, Katelin Willett, Rose Willett, Braxton Willett, Aaliyah Story, Chelsea Walton, and Hannah Walton.

Clifford loved traveling. He became a tour bus driver so he could do more of it. He also drove the bus for his local college team, TU.

Clifford was loved by many from his department, church, family, friends, even people that really didn’t know him, but he helped. He will be missed by all.
