Please join us in remembering Firefighter George “Andy” Davis of the Houma Fire Department (LA) who died in the line of duty on this date 20 years ago, at the age of 27. George was called to a life of service early on, he served as a staff sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Gulf War prior to joining the Houma Fire Dept. He enjoyed hunting‚ fishing‚ dabbled at cooking, but most of all spending time with his family and friends was a passion. Rarely is there a family gathering (George considered his friends his family too) without a memory of him shared, which inevitably leads to laughter. His sense of humor was a gift and his laugh was contagious. George is missed terribly by his friends and family. We carry him in our hearts and thoughts to keep him close. Thanksgiving is always a little bittersweet, but he gave us so much to be grateful for in his short life that we can’t help but smile when we think of him. Hug your loved ones this Thanksgiving!!

  1. I served with George in 1992 USMC. He was my squad leader. We all heard about his passing many years back. He was a good Marine.
