I did the 9/11 Stair Climb at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado on 9/11/2016. I selected John J. Giordano out of the pool of fallen firefighters and performed the Stair Climb in his honor. It was a very emotional and powerful experience to do the Stair Climb with 2,500 other generous and caring souls. My heart goes out to his surviving wife and 3 children.
– Doug GarnandJohn (as I) was from Grant City- SI, where he was a few years ahead of me at St Christopher’s and then later St Peters High School. In college we worked together at the A&P in New Dorp. John stocked aisle 8 and I did aisle 7. After work there, we had a big group of us that socialized at the Kings Row bar on Hylan Blvd, where John eventually became a bartender. He had a tight group of friends that were also our co-workers at the A&P. They actually rented an RV and evidently had a blast driving cross country.
Years later while reading his obituary I was moved by how much his and all of our lives had evolved, but how much his calm and intelligent demeanor had obviously stayed the same.
It is my prayer, this 9/11/17, that his children and wife have been able to heal and find a continuing peace and love of fun times, that John always embodied.
– George JaegerI walked a 5K in John’s honor on Saturday September 8th at our hometown Run for the Fallen event. It was a very beautiful tribute to all that has lost their lives on that sad day. Thoughts and prayers go out to John’s friends and family!

– Laura AllenHello,
I work with a very caring and loving individual named Janet Davis. She is from South Carolina but has a New Yorker’s heart. She loves New York and the Yankees. She has completed a few 9/11 stair climbs honoring the fallen hero of 9-11. By her office she has signs honoring the heroes of 9-11 and a bowl filled with ID cards of our fallen heroes. We all choose one fallen hero every week and pray for their surviving families. Never forget. 10-10- 2022
