Roll of Honor

Captain
Age: 60
Year of Death: 2022

Kenneth J. Pettit

Kenneth was born in Oregon, Ohio, to Joanne Pettit and John Pettit, on September 15, 1962. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Jeffrey Pettit.

Kenneth served on the Allen-Clay Joint Fire Department from 1995 to 2022. Kenneth loved his fire department and enjoyed encouraging the younger firefighters.

Kenneth was a loving husband to Lynne Pettit; father to Chad (Kait) Pettit and Abby (Meagan) Price; stepfather to Kile (Kim) Smith, Amanda (Adam) Hall, and Shelby Smith; and Papa to River Hall, Asher Hall, Paislee Price, and Dallas Price. He loved all of us greatly, but his greatest joy was being a Papa.

One of Kenneth’s hobbies was collecting old postcards of Ohio towns and unique Ohio things. Kenneth enjoyed collecting fire collectables, magnets, challenge coins, and pins.

Kenneth loved finding unique places to go and to eat. He rode his motorcycle to 49 states at least one time, and he completely rode the lower 48 states twice. He researched to find a motorcycle that I could ride on my own. Kenneth lived life as if you don’t know when your last day is. One of the unique places he visited was the tallest pistachio in the United States, and yes, he was on the motorcycle when we found it.

Kenneth was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in April 2022, and he fought a hard battle all the way until his last breath.

Kenneth John Pettit, you will never be forgotten. You are so very loved by many.
