Kevin Leo Baker‚ 39‚ firefighter‚ Mid-North Johnson County Volunteer Fire Department‚ died April 7‚ 2002‚ when he suffered a heart attack while assisting at an EMS call. He served with the department for less than a month. Baker worked as a superintendent with a local swimming pool company. He found the department through its Web site and called to see how to get involved. He jumped in with both feet and kept running. He made every class and every call. He just left a good impression.

  1. I was 11 when my father passed. It was hard to get over. Honestly I never got over it! I Just got stronger like my father would want. I remember every day just like yesterday. He was tough, brave, strong, and more then I’ll ever be!!! He was loved and looked up to by a lot of people including me. I loved him so much it hurts to Wright!!! If anyone is going through this I’m truly sorry! Just know they are in your heart and keep your head up. R.I.P DAD (Kevin Leo Baker) your son Christopher Baker
