We went to middle school together and we were in same Art Class. He was such a great artist in drawing and painting……he inspired me to draw, but it didn’t work out for me. He earned a full scholarship in art school in New York, while in high school. We stayed in touch til graduation when he went to be a fire fighter. He loved Bob Marley, always played his music and told me the history of him when we talked late nights on phone. He DJ’d my high school graduation party – it was so cool!
I was on my way back to college when I heard about his death. It was very hard to focus my 1st quarter back, but he would have wanted me to follow my dreams……..I did…..I miss his humor and his courage he display in what he wanted out of Life…..
– Carla BurksMaurice and I went to Bliss College together, he was excited about landing the position as fire fighter and such decided to leave school to fulfill his dream. It was a very sad time when his life was cut short in attempt to save a life.
