Firefighter Michael G. Catanzaro, age 36, of the  Buffalo Fire Department died in a propane explosion on December 27, 1983.

Michael Catanzaro was a Marine Corps veteran who served in the Vietnam War, He rose to the rank of Lance Corporal.

He was appointed to the Buffalo Fire Department in 1971.

He is survived by a wife and four sons, one of which followed his dad’s footsteps as a member of the Buffalo Fire Department.
