Robert A. Stevens, age 66, passed away with his family at his side, on January 27, 2022, at ThedaCare Hospital in Neenah, Wisconsin.
He was born on June 5, 1955, in New London, Wisconsin, the son of the late Loren “Slim” and Linda (Timm) Stevens. Bob was a Boy Scout and an Eagle Scout. In 1973, he graduated with honors from Weyauwega-Fremont High School.
Bob worked with his father in his construction business for many years. In 1978, Bob took over the business, renaming it RA Stevens Builders, and was still doing construction work throughout the area at the time of his death. Bob was very involved in his community. He was a founding member of the Webfooter Waterski Club, where he earned the nickname “Hot Sticks Stevens,” and a longtime member of the Invaders Snowmobile Club.
He served his community as an EMT with Fremont-Wolf River EMS from June 1991 through June 2016 and was an active member of the Fremont-Wolf River Fire Department for 35 years, where he was the former assistant chief. Bob also worked with Poygan Ice Salvage, helping to retrieve vehicles that went through the ice during the winter. Bob enjoyed being outdoors, especially boating, snowmobiling, both recreational and racing, hunting, waterskiing, and playing baseball. He enjoyed repairing motors of any kind.
On April 4, 2014, Bob married Faith Clements at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fremont.
Bob was survived by his wife, Faith; daughters, Stacy (Randy) Weyland and Emmy (Joshua) Kiecker; seven grandchildren, Abigail, Rachel, and Robert “RJ” Weyland and Olivia, Isabella, Aiden, and Elliot Kiecker; a stepson, Brock Krenke; his sisters, Sandra “Sam” (Pete) Berens, Patricia Stevens, and Mary Hopfensperger; nieces and nephew, Curt, Cassie, Heather, and Heidi; Stacy and Emmy’s mother, Meri Erickson; other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Everett and boy baby Kiecker.
