Robert C. Ulrich‚ 57‚ a 16-year member of the Scipio Township Volunteer Fire Department in La Porte‚ died on November 4‚ 1999‚ from injuries sustained while responding to a grass fire on October 28‚ 1999. Ulrich was President of Ulrich & Son Construction. A former Marine‚ he worked with local youth scouting organizations. Firefighter Brian Keith Burnett died from injuries sustained in the same accident.
