Robert R. Boire

Robert “Rory” Boire died on January 3, 2024, after suffering a heart attack on scene during response to a motor vehicle accident on December 27, 2023.

He was born in Plattsburgh, New York, on October 7, 1959. After graduating from Beekmantown Central School in 1979, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country until 1983. He continued serving with the Reserves from 1983-1985 and again from 2001-2003, supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Rory worked as a corrections officer at Clinton Correctional Facility, retiring in 2016.

He was a past member of the Beekmantown Fire Department and the Chazy Fire Department. At the time of his death, he was an active member of the Cumberland Head Fire Department. He was an EMT.

He was a member of VFW Post 1466, where he served as commander. He also served on the board of the Peru Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed woodturning and riding his motorcycle.

Rory was survived by his wife, Tina; his son, Ryan Boire, and daughter, Jessica Boire; a stepson, James Bouyea; several grandchildren; his siblings, Ron Boire (Faith), Dames Boire (Kimberly), and Alex Boire (Lisa); a cousin, Dan Noonan, who was like a brother to Rory; and several nieces and nephews.

Rory was predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Orville Favreau.

He was remembered as a great storyteller and a steadfast and committed public servant.
