Rocky‚ as we called him‚ served the fire department for 10 years. He joined in May 1974.
Rocky worked at Hellis Dragway Equipment shop in Muncie.
Rocky was very active with Late Model racing at Anderson and Mt. Lawn speedways. Rocky owned and drove his own race car.
Surviving at the time of his death was parents James R. and Joyce E. Gunnels Tharp of Muncie; a sister Elaine Walter of Martinsville and Grandmother‚ Dorothy Cross from Tennessee.
