Firefighter
Age: 40
Year of Death: 2016

Ryan Leonidas Taylor

Ryan Leonidas Taylor, age 40, went to be with our heavenly father on January 10, 2016.

Ryan, a dedicated firefighter with 15 years of experience, began his noble journey as a volunteer firefighter in Morgan County, Georgia. Driven by passion for serving the community, he transitioned to a career firefighter role with the city of Decatur. Known for his infectious positivity and unwavering dedication, Ryan quickly became a loved figure among his colleagues and the community alike.

Throughout his career, he rose through the ranks, earning promotions to fire apparatus operator (FAO) and later to the esteemed position of fire inspector. His commitment to ensuring public safety and his love for his job have left an indelible mark on all who have had the privilege of working with him.

Ryan was an entrepreneur and found other ways to serve his community. Owning his own contracting business, Ryan was committed to quality and safety standards and took the time to ensure all his work was done to the highest standards. Later, following a lifelong dream with his best friend, he opened a landscape supply company where he could further provide his expert advice in a family atmosphere.

Ryan was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Madison, Georgia. Ryan’s faith was very important to him, and he made it a priority to lead by example with family togetherness and tradition.

Ryan lived each day to the fullest. When not at the fire station or a jobsite, Ryan could be found coaching his children’s ball teams, camping, at the beach, or on an adventure out west. All these hobbies involved family. Family was very important to Ryan, and he loved, nurtured, and protected his family fiercely. Never missing an opportunity to just hang out or celebrate an occasion. Ryan’s life was filled with joy, and he made it his duty to pass that joy on and make sure everyone in his life was happy and content. He was also known as “Bub” and “The Golden Boy” to his family.

We miss your contagious laughter and unconditional love.
