Thomas King

Thomas King had been a substitute firefighter for only a few weeks when he died in the line-of-duty at age 26. This tragedy happened when a wall collapsed at the Callahan Block Fire at 224 Lisbon Street on December 24, 1909. Captain Phillippe Bazinet was also killed.

This firefighter line of duty fatality occurred before the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial was built in Emmitsburg, Maryland. While this firefighter has not been officially honored at the Memorial site, there are plans to do so when resources are available.
