ONE-TIME DEATH BENEFIT

Coverage provided for Firefighters who are classified employees and are regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Eligibility for the benefit begins the 1st of the month that follows 30 consecutive days of employment.

Life Insurance
Policy benefit in the amount of $20,000 is provided by the county at no cost to employee. Additional benefit may apply if employee opted to purchase voluntary supplemental coverage.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance
Policy benefit in the amount of $20,000 is provided by the county at no cost to employee. Additional benefit may apply if employee opted to purchase voluntary supplemental coverage.

Covers Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk, Marion and Pinellas Counties. Provides immediate cash assistance of $5,000 to families. Provides tuition, room and board, and books for dependent children and spouse enrolled in a program leading toward an undergraduate degree.
