Imani is currently a sophomore at Alabama State University and is the second oldest of four children. She is pursuing an education in music performance. Upon graduation, Imani plans to obtain a career as a musical composer.

Imani currently is involved in her school’s Street Team to promote school spirit and involvement; participates in Real Talk, a school-based organization based upon spreading the love and joy of Christ; and The Curve which is a women’s empowerment organization that provides mentoring for ASU students and volunteers with community businesses, churches, and community events.

Firefighter/EMT Shannon Coleman states, “Imani is always smiling, pleasant, respectful, and energetic. She is an amazing role model for young ladies for overcoming obstacles in life while remaining focused, driven, and happy.” Darnetta Metcalf, Director of Donty Horton Home Care shares, “In 2019, Imani helped us implement our Young Lovely Ladies Program. With this program, she works to expose our female clients with developmental and intellectual disabilities in the Greater Cincinnati area to the importance of high self-esteem, self-image, and hygiene to improve their independence and self-advocacy as well as improved mental health.”
