Kensley is pursuing a degree in Management and Leadership at Trevecca Nazarene University. Since the passing of her father in 2018, she has remained committed to honoring his legacy through hard work and perseverance. The NFFF Scholarship has played a crucial role in supporting her academic journey, allowing her to maintain a strong 3.6 GPA while working full-time. Without the scholarship, financial challenges would make it difficult for her to continue her education. Kensley lives with her grandmother, who is on a fixed income, and contributes to household expenses, making the scholarship essential to maintaining her academic momentum and future career goals in Human Resources or Healthcare Administration.
In addition to her academic and financial responsibilities, Kensley actively gives back to her community by volunteering with Abigail’s Plan Buddy Ball—a league for children and adults with special needs. She has volunteered for multiple seasons and plans to return, finding deep meaning in supporting others through inclusive recreation. This balance of school, work, and volunteerism reflects the values instilled in her by her father, particularly the importance of dedication and service.
Kensley’s high school counselor states, “I have seen her flourish academically and in her extracurricular activities. Kensley is a positive role model to her peers, works hard in all that she does and has maintained good grades while working a full-time job.”
