Marty hopes to complete her college education with a nursing degree. Her goal is to ultimately work in a nursing home and gain experience to transition to a fast-paced work environment.

Marty works hard to maintain her GPA that is acceptable for students who wish to enter the nursing program. She made the Dean’s list in the previous semester while also working to support herself and her college education.

Coleen Lowe, Marty’s employer, says that what she takes note of about Marty is “not just her work ethic, but her social skills have taken a rather large leap.” She also says that Marty holds her expectations for herself very high. Firefighter Donald O’Brien of the Worchester Fire Department speaks of Marty’s work ethic, that she has had a job since she was 14 years old with a long history of service to others.
