Rachel pursues her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Maryland while working full-time as a mental health rehabilitation therapist and serving an internship. Upon graduating, she plans to work with firefighters regarding their mental health and wellness because she sees this community as underserved in the field of behavioral health. Rachel plans to work with the IAFF’s Center of Excellence and Recovery to bring much needed mental health services to first responders.

She credits her passion and dedication to social work to the passing of her father and her ongoing involvement with the NFFF. Rachel is most appreciative of the scholarship program because it will continue to help her work toward the goal of leaving school with less student debt.

Rachel has excellent written and communication skills. She in all that she does and is greatly deserving of a scholarship. She displays timeliness, trustworthiness and dedication in all areas of responsibility. Rachel comes highly recommended for a scholarship.
