2018 New York Knicks 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Presented by Chase

Due to the funeral of FDNY Lieutenant Raguso, that will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018, in Kings Park, Long Island, the New York Knicks 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Presented by Chase has been postponed in order to pay our respects. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lieutenant Raguso’s family. The new date for the Knicks Stair Climb is Saturday, April 7th, at Madison Square Garden. Check-in will open at 7:00 am with the Opening Ceremony beginning at 7:45 am. Climb start time is 8:00 am finishing by 9:30 am.

The New York Knicks and Chase will hold the first-ever Knicks 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 7 inside Madison Square Garden. The Stair Climb will be open to 343 participants, who will have the opportunity to climb the equivalent of 110 flights of stairs, paying tribute to the 343 FDNY members who passed away on September 11, 2001. The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) organizes and executes 9/11 Memorial Stair Climbs all over the country.

Each participant will be provided a name badge for an FDNY member they are honoring. The climb will take place throughout the lower bowl of Madison Square Garden, starting on the court, wrapping around the arena twice and ending back on the court. Knicks alumni will be on hand to help support participants throughout the event. The climb benefits programs provided by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to support the families of our nation’s fallen firefighters, the Uniformed Firefighters Association Widows and Children’s Fund and the FDNY Counseling Services Unit. The Knicks recently unveiled their newest uniform with the addition of the Nike City Edition jersey, which honors fallen firefighters and their families. A portion of all City Edition merchandise sales at MSG Team Stores are being donated to the UFA Widows and Children’s Fund, which is being driven by select discounts and offers for Knicks fans funded by Chase. The Knicks debuted these jerseys on January 30 and have continued to wear them at all weekend home games this season. At each of these games, the Knicks and Chase are partnering to donate tickets and provide special game-night experiences to local firefighters. The Knicks 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is another element of the Knicks City Edition jersey programming supported by Chase’s partnership.

The City Edition logo pays homage to the City’s firefighters and the FDNY Maltese Cross design which is a registered trademark of the City of New York (U.S. Reg. Nos. 3191341, 3655913, 3868734, and 4276053) and is used with permission.
