For non-profit organizations such as the NFFF, every dollar counts. Corporate employee matching gifts offer the opportunity to turn one dollar donated by a match-eligible employee into two, three, four, or even five dollars.
“The Matching Gifts Program is a wonderful way to support the Foundation and its mission by doubling the impact of an individual donation,” said Chief Ron Siarnicki, Executive Director of the NFFF.
“Employee matching gift programs are a type of corporate philanthropy set up to encourage employees to give back to their communities,” Siarnicki said. “These companies encourage community outreach by making donations to the same non-profits that their employees have donated to.” Siarnicki stressed that the impact of these programs can be “substantial.”
The task is on the individual to find out whether their employer takes part in the Matching Gifts Program. “We wish we could do the heavy lifting, but you should be able to address this in just a few steps,” Siarnicki said.
For more information about your company’s matching gifts program, please contact your employer’s Human Resources or community giving department. You may also use this form on the Foundation’s website to search for your company and learn more about how to submit your request.
These contributions will help the Foundation continue to honor and remember America’s fallen fire heroes, assist their families in rebuilding their lives, and reduce firefighter deaths and injuries. Thank you for maximizing the impact of your donation by participating in the matching gift program.
