This discussion features Battalion Chief Lynwood Buchanan, of the Hanover County Fire and EMS Department (VA), who recalls a vehicle accident that resulted in the line-of-duty death of Lieutenant Bradford T. Clark on October 11, 2018. Also joining the discussion, is Brad’s father, retired Henrico County Battalion Chief Bob Clark, who shares both the family and fire service perspective.

Chief Clark would also like to thank the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, the Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation, and the International Association of Fire Fighters for their assistance.

More About the Incident Commander to Incident Commander (IC to IC) Network

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s Incident Commander to Incident Commander Network (IC to IC Network) to provide assistance to incident commanders who have experienced a line-of-duty death of a firefighter under their command. This is network connects incident commanders who recently experienced a line-of-duty death with a trained peer who previously lost a firefighter under their command.  Throughout the year, the Foundation hosts virtual discussions with our IC to IC peers to share their experience, discuss the lessons learned from the incident, and to remember their fallen firefighters.
