The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) awarded Vickie Pritchett with the Arthur J. Glatfelter Distinguished Service Award, recognizing her exceptional service to the NFFF by supporting Glatfelter’s legacy as a fire service champion. Vickie is the Vice President/Executive Officer at the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) and a long-term fire service leader. Tony Campisi, Chairman of the Glatfelter Insurance Group, presented Vickie with the prestigious Glatfelter Award on September 27, 2023, during the opening session of the Firehouse Expo in Columbus, Ohio. “Vickie Pritchett represents everything Art Glatfelter stood for,” Campisi said. “We are grateful for leaders who carry the standard for the fire service, and it’s a privilege to present Vickie with this award.” Vickie received this award for her many and varied contributions to the NFFF, according to Troy Markel, Chair of the NFFF Board of Directors. “Vickie is a tireless advocate for the Foundation and an innovative fire service leader,” Markel said. “Her dedication sets the bar for the rest of us to follow.” Vickie has been an integral partner with many NFFF strategic efforts, including, the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, the Truman Fire Forums, and the Firefighter Life Safety Summits. Vickie has also worked with the NFFF on the U.S. Fire Administrator’s Summit on Fire Prevention and Control and the subsequent “Fire Stop Tour.” NFFF Executive Director Chief Ron Siarnicki praised Vickie, noting, “Vickie is undoubtedly leaving a lasting impact that will benefit future generations.” Vickie’s remarkable and unwavering commitment to the fire service is a testament to the impact one individual can have in making a difference, just as Art Glatfelter did as the creator of the Volunteer Fireman’s Insurance Services and as a member of the NFFF’s Board of Directors.
