The Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) is now accepting nominations for its 2026 National Awards Program, recognizing outstanding individuals and organizations for leadership in advancing firefighter health and safety, public safety, and emergency medical services.

The awards will be presented on March 19, 2026, at the 36th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner in Washington, DC, before an audience of 1,500 state and national fire service officials.

Spotlight Award: Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award

Co-sponsored by CFSI, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, VFIS, and UL’s Fire Safety Research Institute, this prestigious award honors organizations that implement innovative programs improving firefighter health and safety. Nominations are evaluated based on the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives.
