The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) is inviting supporters nationwide to honor America’s fallen fire heroes on NFFF’s Giving Day. Coinciding on International’s Firefighters’ Day, this campaign provides an opportunity to directly support NFFF’s critical programs that assist fallen firefighters’ families and help reduce line-of-duty deaths and injuries.
Thanks to the generous support of the Presto Foundation, all donations made during this campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $25,000, doubling the impact for Fire Hero Families and NFFF programs.
“Every gift given during NFFF’s Giving Tuesday helps us honor the fallen, care for their families, and strengthen the safety of those still serving,” said National Fallen Firefighters Foundation CEO Victor Stagnaro. “Thanks to the generosity of our partner, the Presto Foundation, every donation goes twice as far, bringing comfort to families and advancing our efforts to prevent future tragedies.”
Donations made to the NFFF will fund critical program and services, including:
- Funding scholarship programs for Fire Hero Family members
- Connecting spouses and children with licensed grief counselors
- Helping children attend “Hal Bruno Kids Camp,” bereavement camps for children
- Preserving the legacy of fallen firefighters through commemorative bricks on the “Walk of Honor” in the National Memorial Park
- Equipping firefighters with training materials focused on preventing line-of-doty deaths and injuries
- Ensuring families receive remembrance cards on anniversaries of their loved ones’ passing, reminding them they are never alone.
There are several ways to take part in NFFF Giving Day, including:
- Making a direct donation to the NFFF
- Starting a giving campaign to rally friends, family or colleagues to make a greater impact
- Spreading the word on social media, using #NFFFGivingDay, or through email to inspire others to give
- Carrying the NFFF’s mission forward by helping ensure the nation’s fallen heroes are never forgotten and their families are always supported
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is a Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible. For more information about NFFF Giving Day, visit this link here.
