Colin A. Reedy

Colin Alexander Reedy of Exton, Pennsylvania, formerly of Selkirk, New York, was born on December 27, 1997, in the Crimea Region, Ukraine. He was the son of Brian and Tracy Reedy; brother to sisters, Jordan and Addie; grandson to Richard and Jacqueline Haberstroh and William and Marjorie Reedy; and the partner of Emily Gindele, his great love of five years. Colin worked as a plumber for Done Right Today Plumbing in Wilmington, Delaware.

Colin longed from an early age to serve his community through civil service. While in high school, Colin was an Explorer through his local firehouse. Colin spoke for years about joining the fire department, which he did earlier in 2023, along with his partner, Emily. Colin loved it and was eager to learn and participate in as many trainings and calls as he could! He wanted to make a difference in this world, and the fire department was one avenue for this.

Colin approached life with an all-in mentality. He struggled with a learning disability and was determined to be an overcomer. Once he committed, he would work tirelessly to learn all he could and give 100% of his time and talents. This approach was the secret to his success so young in life. Colin’s primary goals when asked, even as young as middle school, were to be a family man and to secure a successful job to provide for his family. He was on track for both.

Colin was a friend to all. No one was a stranger for long. He was just that guy. Always quick with a big smile and a joke, he was truly the funniest person you’d ever meet. Colin included everyone and wanted all around him to be happy. He continuously strived to help through big and small gestures. He was a man of integrity with a servant’s heart, an exceptional and unique young man with the kindest soul, a huge heart, infectious energy, and a contagious laugh.

Described by all as respectful, generous, sacrificial, and hardworking, he was a beacon of positivity and brought a level of playfulness that just left people smiling. The outpouring from people sharing stories of how Colin touched their lives and how he brought a level of energy and light everywhere he went solidifies a legacy that transcends the grave.

He loved his family, Emily, and their dog, Chandler, more than anything! His passing leaves an absence that can never be filled. His family longs for the day of their heavenly reunion. Colin was a car enthusiast and enjoyed the outdoors, playing with his dog, and spending time with his family and friends. Colin left this earth doing what he loved next to the person he loved. We are one proud family! #YDM
