Brandon T. Peterson

As a Lancaster firefighter/paramedic, Brandon Peterson was a true hero. He was a 10-year veteran of Lancaster Fire Department and served with compassion, honor, and loyalty to the citizens of Lancaster, until losing his battle with lung cancer resulting from his service. Brandon passed away on December 29, 2020.

Brandon was a wonderful caring father, husband, and son. His two beautiful daughters will always remember their awesome Daddy. He was proud to be a professional firefighter and is missed by many. His family has many happy memories of Brandon, how he lived his life, and how he loved his friends and family. They remember his many talents and the friendly attitude he presented to all he encountered. He never complained about anything and always put his family first.

Brandon was an avid Texas Rangers fan and a collector of many baseball player autographs, as well as famous celebrities. He enjoyed visiting Disney World with his family.

Friends and family take comfort in knowing his last act of kindness was to ensure others could enjoy the gift of sight after he was gone. From Brandon, and all the other generous cornea donors like him, the Gift of Sight lives on.

  1. Brandon you were the best son-in-law and an even better husband, dad and firefighter. You are dearly missed.

    – Carla Girouard
  2. Brandon, I am so proud of you and all that you have accomplished for not only me and the girls, but your firefighter brothers. You have opened a door for so many other families that are fighting for benefits because of cancer. I love you and miss you and I long for day that we get to be together again. You deserve this honor and I’m so glad I get to be here to honor you and sacrifices you made to help others.

    – Allison Peterson
  3. Brandon! I can’t believe life is happening without you in it. We should still be bickering over all of the dumb, little things that don’t matter in family vacations. Finley and Riley talk about you all the time and how much they miss Uncle Brandon. You would have been making Scout giggle and you would have been one of her favorite people. I’m so thankful for the way you took care of my sister and nieces while you were in this earth, and somehow, you are still taking care of them! We miss you and love you!! So proud of the firefighter you were and how you helped people!

    – April Hutchins
  4. Bird my brother we all miss you. Your spirit lives on in your family. So happy to have been your friend and fellow chaser!

    – Anthony Burris (Big A)
  5. Brandon, it was an honor working with you for the few years that I did. I’ll never forget all the funny pranks you pulled on the guys at work and all the trips we made to the gas station to get scratch offs to hope we won big. You always made the day more fun and entertaining, never a dull moment with you. You will always be in my memories and I’ll continue to share stories with the guys at work about you and all the great times we had. Thanks for always being such a great friend. We miss you down here but you’ll never be forgotten.

    – JT Virostek
  6. Brandon,

God how I wish you were here, but man! You are still showing everyone that you are here. You absolutely deserve this honor. You are the beginning of a change that so many will benefit from. I am so proud to have been able to call you my brother. Avery and Kayla sure had a great dad and boy do they know it!! I love you and miss you so much. I cannot wait to see you again one day.

  7. A true family hero. Husband, father, firefighter, paramedic, friend and most of all my only son. Love you and miss you. Will remember and honor you forever.

    – Eric Peterson
  8. There are have been many thoughts and words I wish to say, but none of them makes sense. And I think it’s cause, to me, you should be here and this is all just a weird dream. A brother who cared. Maybe mean at times, but you cared. Forever grateful for your presence, miss you and love you.

    – your sister, Megan.

    – Megan Womack
  9. Brandon Peterson was an amazing firefighter and friend. And I can see also an amazing dad, husband, brother, and son to his family. He’s one of those people you never forget and the world is less without him in it. I’ll always remember he was always smiling, funny (although his jokes were unique), helpful, and kind. I’ll always remember him getting married to his wife Allison, his 1st house warming party, the birth of his children, and all the details of a life that should have continued on but didn’t. And that is an unfair tragedy. The world needs more people like Brandon, not less. Many, many prayers to his family- His wife Allison, his children, parents, siblings, and extended family. We know your loss is great. ❤️
