On October 22, 1984, the Baltimore County Fire Department reported to building fire at the Shillers Furniture Store in the 7400 block of Holabird Avenue. Conditions deteriorated rapidly and Firefighter Walter J.Bawroski,Sr., along with Firefighter Henry W.Rayner, Jr. tragically died.
