Jay Ogren

Jay was born in 1970. He was a twin and the youngest of five children. One of his achievements was when he and his twin were in high school. Knowing the only way to college was scholarships and being competitive swimmers‚ they convinced the high school‚ which did not have a team‚ to let them represent the school at a swim meet where most college coaches would be. Both of them received scholarships to St. John’s in Queens‚ New York as a result.

By his senior year‚ Jay had a full scholarship and was on the Dean’s List. He graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice.

After working in the District Attorney’s office in Manhattan for several years‚ he joined his twin in the FDNY in May 1998.

Jay embraced all life had to offer. He ran the New York Marathon several times‚ biked through Iowa‚ partied at New Orleans’ Jazz Fest. He was always at the ready and lit the room up with his dynamite smile. In August 2002‚ he was to be married.
