Join us for an event that will focus on service, giving back to others at the holidays, self-care, reflection, and fellowship. Attendees will visit the National Memorial Site on Thursday, November 30 to assist in decorating the Memorial site and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Chapel. On Friday, December 1, attendees will attend the annual Fire Hero Family Tree Lighting.
At the beautiful Liberty Mountain Resort, attendees will participate in service-based activities, open discussions with other Fire Hero Families and enjoy time connecting with each other for support.
This event is open to family members of all ages whose firefighters have been honored or approved to be honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland. The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will cover the cost of one room per family and will provide meals for attendees during this event. Travel arrangements and costs will be the responsibility of the attendee.
The NFFF will reimburse for up to three (3) nights lodging beginning Wednesday, November 29. Participants are responsible for booking their own room with a provided link. A shuttle will be available to and from Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI). We will reimburse your travel expenses up to $350 (airfare or mileage) after full participation in the retreat.
