Alexander Johnson

On July 13, 1958, Alexander Johnson responded to a house fire. Firefighter Johnson collapsed at the scene and died that day from a heart attack.

In addition to working full-time with the Naval Academy Fire Department he volunteered with Rescue Hose Company #1 in Annapolis.

This firefighter line of duty fatality occurred before the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial was built in Emmitsburg, Maryland. While this firefighter has not been officially honored at the Memorial site, there are plans to do so when resources are available.
