Roll of Honor

Firefighter
Age: 20
Year of Death: 2023

Cameron Bentley Craig

Cameron was born on June 3, 2003, and brought a bright light to the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a dedicated son, brother, and friend, with an unwavering passion for helping others and sharing his love for Christ with them.

Cameron loved his family very much. He and his dad were big NASCAR fans and would attend the races at Bristol Motor Speedway as often as they could. In his downtime, he would play online racing games where he was known as the Kingdom Racer. He enjoyed traveling and playing games with the family, especially with his sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and all of their animals.

He attended Trigg Street Christian Academy, where he graduated with honors and was the valedictorian. Cameron’s love for math, science, and his fellow students allowed him to win several awards, including the Christian Character Award in his senior year. Cameron was always a willing helper with the younger children.

He was a part-time career firefighter at the Abingdon Fire Department, with hopes of making it his career. He was also employed by Richardson Ambulance Service, where he served as a driver. During his time in service, Cameron responded to countless emergencies, risking his life to protect and save the lives of others. His bravery and dedication to keeping our community safe was a testament to his Christian character. He will forever be remembered for his acts of heroism and his willingness to put the wellbeing of others above his own, as demonstrated on his last call on October 19, 2023.

In addition to being an extremely proud firefighter, he was a kind and compassionate young man, always ready to lend a helping hand and bring comfort to those in need. Cameron looked for opportunities to share his faith in Jesus online and in person. Just as his funeral service moved 30 individuals to give their lives to the Lord, he would want his memory to remind those who know Jesus that this earth is not our final home. And for those who have yet to answer that call, as you read this, today could be the day that you are guaranteed a space beside Locker 36 in Heaven.
