Christopher Mykel Clevenger was born on February 27, 1991, in Joplin, Missouri, and passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, and community servant, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, love, and selflessness.

Chris was the cherished husband of Jessica for 12 years and an incredible, present father to their children, Brantley and Raegan. His family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in being an active and supportive father, coaching his children’s recreational t-ball, baseball, basketball, and football teams.

Born to Billie and Michael Clevenger, Chris grew up in the Concordia and Sweet Springs, Missouri area. He was the oldest of five siblings, with one sister, Cierra, and three younger brothers, Brodie, Dalton, and Mason. Chris graduated from Sweet Springs High School in 2010, where he developed a passion for service, sports, and community.

From the age of 18, Chris selflessly served his community as a volunteer fire captain and emergency medical responder for the West Central Missouri Fire Protection District in Sweet Springs. His role in the district became an integral part of his identity, and he made countless contributions to the safety and well-being of those around him.

After high school, Chris pursued a career in law enforcement, enrolling at State Fair Community College to study criminal justice. His dedication to service led him to the Mizzou Law Enforcement Training Institute in Columbia, Missouri, where he graduated in 2012. He went on to work as a Saline County Sheriff’s Deputy in Marshall, Missouri, before transitioning to a new career with the Ford Motor Company manufacturing facility in Claycomo, Missouri, in 2017.

Outside of work, Chris had a deep love for the outdoors, particularly hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his son, Brantley, and his brother-in-law, David, hunting together in the Missouri woods, a pastime that brought him great joy and fulfillment. Chris also enjoyed spending time with his nieces, Rosaleigh, Lilliana, and Elliotte, daughters of Cierra and David.

Chris’s sudden passing on January 26, 2025, following a fatal heart attack after responding to a medical call, was a shock to all who knew him. He leaves behind a community that will forever be grateful for his unwavering commitment to service, his loving family, and his vibrant spirit.

Chris’s life was a testament to hard work, resilience, and love for his family and community. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his kindness, strength, and dedication.
