Craig S. Shormas

Craig Steven Shormas died from complications of metastatic prostate cancer, deemed by the State of Missouri to be in the line of duty.

He served as a firefighter in the St. Louis area for more than 30 years, including 12 years with the Maryland Heights Fire Protection District and 19 years with the Monarch Fire Protection District. He was a member of the Professional Fire Fighters of Eastern Missouri, Local 2665.

Craig Shormas was survived by his wife, Shelli; his daughters, Sarah (Jordan Cechin), Sophia (Luke Greenemay), and Madeline Shormas; his parents, Joseph and Joyce Shormas; his sister, Lori Kieffer; and his grandchildren.

  1. I worked with Craig and know him as an honorable man. A man other men looked up to. Craig was kind and giving and excellent firefighter and Paramedic. Our shifts together were full of laughter, conversations about life and hard work. He was the partner everyone dreams of having. He has been missed by his Brothers and Sisters in Local 2665.
