  1. Captain Daniel McCoy is my hero. I’m 67 years old, because of him I am alive he saved my life and my unborn child. It was a fire on Belmont Ave Newark he was off duty and spotted the fire. I was getting ready to jump from the second floor. He told me to stay and he brought me to safety. I called him and thanked him the next day. I stayed in touch with him for awhile. I later found that he passed away two years later. My child and I will always be grateful for this brave man. I was very young at the time, but because of him I have lived a very successful and happy life. I will always be grateful for captain Daniel McCoy I think about him often my hero. I tell my story about how he saved our lives all the time. I love you captain McCoy rest in peace. I owe you my life. It’s more to my story. Maybe one day I’ll be able to share it with his family.
