Daniel O’Callaghan

Daniel O’Callaghan‚ 42‚ was a dedicated firefighter who was assigned to Ladder 4 in Manhattan. He was promoted to Captain on 9/10/01. Dan and 14 other firefighters from Ladder 4/Engine 54/Battalion 9 gave their lives helping others on 9/11/01. He was recovered with his men in the South Tower in March for which I am so grateful.

Danny was a loving‚ caring husband and a devoted Daddy to our two children. He adored his Pumpkin‚ Rhiannon Rose‚ 6‚ and his Little Buddy‚ Connor Daniel‚ 1.

Danny‚ words cannot express how much we love and miss you‚ but we know you will always watch over us. You are truly our HERO.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the fallen firefighters and their families. Thank you to everyone who has been so kind to me and my family and for all the rescue workers. I could never thank you enough.

Rhonda‚ Rhiannon Rose‚ and Connor Daniel O’Callaghan

  5. Danny was a good family friend of ours. I remember going to parties when I was younger, Danny would hangout in the pool with us kids while the adults discussed more serious matters. He was a joy to be around, a loving hero I will surely never forget.

  6. Hello. We visited the memorial a few years ago in NY. We found Daniel’s name on the memorial pool wall and my whole family prayed for him. My husband”s name is also Daniel O’Callaghan & we have 2 children…Aubrey Rose and Connor. We feel connected in some way and just wanted to reach out to say that. Blessings.

  7. Thanks to Daniel and the many others who serviced that day and lost their lives (343 total firefighters alone). I just ran the Tunnel to Towers 5k in Coeur D Alene, Idaho (9-11-21) and I wore Daniel’s memorial name badge to honor and remember you

  8. Rhonda, I ran a 5K Tunnel to Tower today and your husbands memorial car was given to me to I look up as an honor to a fallen 9/11 hero. I was 38 when this happened and very similarly to you and Daniel, I had a 6 year old a three year old and a 1 year old at the time They grew up in NJ knowing their father. Very different. I am grateful for your husbands service to our country. Thank you.

  10. I did the stair climb in Denver this morning in Daniel’s honor. I kept thinking about the courage and love he had to accept the risks and try to save another’s life. I’m sorry you had to go, but you won’t be forgotten.
