Elmer Schroer

Elmer was born in Norwood, Ohio. At his death, he was a mechanic for Wright Aeronautical Corp. He was a volunteer fireman for the Madeira and Indian Hill Fire Dept. He was electrocuted at a house fire on Camargo Rd. in Madeira, Ohio. His death certificate states the cause of death was electrocution due to accidental (193). He resided at 7810 Euclid Ave. In Madeira, Ohio.

This firefighter line of duty fatality occurred before the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial was built in Emmitsburg, Maryland. While this firefighter has not been officially honored at the Memorial site, there are plans to do so when resources are available.
