Ernest J. Young‚ 52‚ a 30-year member of the Big Knob Volunteer Fire Department‚ died on January 17‚ 2000‚ from head injuries sustained when he fell while performing station maintenance duties. A U.S. Army veteran‚ he served during the Vietnam War. In his memory‚ the helicopter pad at his fire department was named the ‘Ernie Young Memorial Landing Zone.’
My dad was the greatest man I ever knew. He gave of himself all the time and never said a cross word. I miss him everyday.
