Frank DiSarlo died in the line of duty as a volunteer firefighter in Freeport‚ NY‚ on March 3‚ 1985. He was only 41 years old. At the time‚ he was survived by his wife‚ Genevieve; son‚ Frank Jr.‚ 18 years old; and daughter‚ Alicia‚ 16 years old. It was 18 years ago‚ and we still miss him very much and think of him everyday. Today‚ Genevieve lives in Bethpage‚ NY and never remarried. Frankie is married to Laura with 2 children in Orlando‚ Florida. Alicia is married to Jimmy with 3 children and lives in West Islip‚ NY. Today he would have had 5 grandchildren: Danielle DiSarlo‚ 6; Patrick Francis Metzger‚ 5; Francis DiSarlo III‚ 3; Kelly Metzger‚ 3; and Courtney Metzger‚ 10 months. He would have enjoyed them very much. We will tell the children all about him‚ so they will feel as if they know their grandfather.
