Wade Cannon passed away from occupational colon cancer at the age of 33. He was a firefighter paramedic for the Town of Flower Mound in Flower Mound, Texas. He was active in the SAFE Team school program, teaching the next generation about fire safety. Wade had a deep love for his brothers and sisters at the fire department and had an unwavering loyalty to his friends and family.
Wade was known for his intentional “Wade” hugs and exuberant joy for life. He was born for the outdoors. Wade enjoyed hiking, backpacking, fishing, kayaking, and doing just about anything with his wife, Chelsea. Wade passed away when his wife was 21 weeks pregnant with their first child, a beautiful little boy who looks just like him.
Wade is survived by his wife of seven years, Chelsea; his son, Stratton; his father, Brooks; his mother, Melissa; his sister, Jessica; and his nephew, Cannon.
In Wade’s words “If you ever want to visit, leave the steel and concrete behind and see the beauty of God’s natural creation. Or just go see Chels and our son, ’cause I’ll be there, too. What a wonderful life.”
You can honor Wade’s life by advocating for your own health and going to get checked! Get your colonoscopy scheduled and spread the word, especially those who are first responders. Cancer does not discriminate based on age.
We love and miss you, Wade. Always.
