Gary suffered a fatal heart attack after fighting a brush fire. He was a 23 year veteran of the Greene Fire Department and had served as 1st and 2nd lieutenant‚ secretary‚ and training officer. He was a delegate to both the County and State Firemen’s Associations. He was a member of the cause and origin team and a founding member of the department’s fire police. The department dedicated their new rescue truck in honor of Gary. He is survived by his wife Jeanne and daughter Terry.
