Gerald J. Franz, 60, beloved husband and dad to nine children, collapsed and died while fighting a fire and explosion at Boileou’s marina on Lake Pend Oreille in the early hours of May 4, 1986. He was a firefighter and elected fire commissioner for the all-volunteer Bayview, Idaho Fire Department. We remember him as truly a good man. He always put everything he had into what he did. He took the responsibility to make a difference. In his professional life, he was an acoustical physicist for the US Navy, Chair of the Lakeland School Board and an active member of every part of his community.
Remembering uncle Gerald, his dedication to family, faith and community.
