Herb Reggin, Assistant Fire Chief of the Prescott Fire Department died of complications from injuries sustained at the scene of an automobile fire. Formerly, he had been Chief of the same Fire Department before serving his country during World War II as the chief at Luke Field and the chief at the Yuma Air Base.

This firefighter line of duty fatality occurred before the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial was built in Emmitsburg, Maryland. While this firefighter has not been officially honored at the Memorial site, there are plans to do so when resources are available.
