James Stuart Hunt

James Stuart Hunt, age 65, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away peacefully at William Child’s Hospice House on March 29, 2022, after a courageous journey with cancer.

Stuart was born in Wilmington, Delaware, on December 23, 1956, to James and Margaret Jane (Marge) Hunt. Stuart is survived by his father, James C. Hunt; wife, Nancy S. White Hunt; stepson, Bradley F. White; sisters, Susan Hunt Browning and Lori Hunt (Jay Spallina); stepfather, Herb Jarvis; and so many wonderful aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Stuart was predeceased in death by his mother, Margaret Jane (Marge) Jarvis.

After graduating from Satellite High School in 1975, Stuart volunteered to proudly serve his country. He successfully completed the Army’s premier leadership school, receiving his RANGER TAB while assigned to Co A 1st Bn 75th Infantry Ranger/Airborne. He was honorably discharged in 1979.

After attending University of Florida and Sante Fe College, Stuart joined the fire service in 1985 and rose to the rank of lieutenant with the City of Melbourne. After 30 years of dedication to saving lives and property, Stuart retired in 2016.

Stuart was a member of the Port Malabar Gun Range and the NRA. He spent so much of his free time with friends on the “property” at the gun range, many days of diving in our local ocean on the Weedline and in the Keys, surf fishing and watching the Gators every chance he could. GO GATORS!

Stuart loved his Groove Monsters and live music. He was definitely a Deadhead Grateful Dead fan!!

All my thanks to Stuie’s buddies, so loyal, always there for him—Carlo (my wingman and MVP), Hym, Tallman, ETM, Nelsonic, Walter, Plateau, Sidney, and Shane, just to name a few. Stuart had so many friends in his life and shared so much with them every chance he could!

From the heart of Stuart:
The purpose of life is to matter, to be productive, to have it make a difference that you lived at all—using the talents that God has given you for the betterment of others. -Leo Rosten.
