From the articles I’ve read online online, it seems clear you were a fun-loving father and husband and a truly devoted firefighter. – Jamie RogersJoseph E. Maloney…your face popped out at me when I was selecting a badge for the 2018 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in Red Rocks, Colorado. It was an instant connection. I will carry you with me on the journey of the steps, and never forget.
– Terecita "Ti" Mahoney BlairI did not know you FDNY”s FF Maloney. I knew your brother Jim. Since 9/11 I watch the calling of the names on TV or on the radio until Your name is called out. I just heard your name again today 9/11/2018. Thank you for your service to your city and to all American’s. You are a true hero!
– Lance A FrameI bumped a bookshelf last night and something fell on the floor. I picked it up today and opened it. It was a memorial bracelet for Joseph Maloney that I bought a few years ago. I’m not sure what the meaning is that today, September 11, 2018, I am nudged by this bracelet. But my prayers go out to Joseph’s loved ones and all those lives that he touched. I wear this bracelet proudly and with reverence for your sacrifice, Fire Fighter Joseph Maloney, FDNY.

– Naomi JensenI was blessed to know you ,and to know what a hero looks like, I myself from exposure only 3 days am starting to understand the severity of the carcinogens that where air bound but still wouldn’t change a moment of trying to find you and many other brothers.
– RobertIt was my honor today to do my steps at Lambeau Field in Green Bay Wisconsin today in honor of this handsome selfless man. My heart goes out to his family and I have been thinking of his precious life all day with a lump in my throat . God bless him and may he Rest In Peace and be reunited with his family.
– MandyJoe I have to say one, no several, things: your heart was as big as you; I miss those bloody Mary’s on Sundays at Lil Joes football games, when I grabbed his mask I thought you’d kill me; I pray that Kathy your wife is well and still fighting hard; I also pray Lil Joe and Megan are living out their dreams. Rip Joe
– Bob GriffithMy son is a Fire Academy cadet in Sacramento and he climbed 110 stories yesterday with your nameplate. He was honored to hold your name and so am I. It was a very emotional day for me as a parent. I had not even turned on the tv yet on 9/11/01 when I called my best friend to tell her I was pregnant. She informed me we were under attack. His passion to serve others started at an early age and maybe it started that day. It was a full circle moment for me yesterday seeing photos of my son doing what he was meant to do. I will always keep your family in my prayers. 🙏🏻
– Kathryn PaulRunning with your photo in Buffalo NY for the tunnels to towers run 7 SEP 2024 , rest easy fire fighter
– Chris DohertyClimbed for you today in Wichita, KS 9/7/24
– Jake MolhoekFirst ever 9/11 stair climb at Arrowhead stadium in KC, MO. Everyone was given a firefighter to climb in honor of. I was given Joseph E. Maloney— as I was shaking and wanting to be done, I remember Mr. Maloney and the sacrifice he made that day 23 years ago and every day leading up to his last. As a daughter and sister of a firefighter I was honored to be able to walk in memory of Joseph. Thank you and to all the other firefighters and first responders for all you do.
– CarriganOn the 23rd anniversary of you giving your life to serve those around you, my dad, Battalion Chief Kevin Cunningham of Coos Bay Fire Department honored you at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, OR for the memorial climb. He made it the full 110 flights that the first responders made it to the day you gave your life. Thank you for your service, and for watching over those still serving. Your name is not forgotten, and never will be. 343 firefighters lost their lives on this day 23 years ago, and it will never go unrecognized. You will not be forgotten. If your family checks this, I would love to learn more about you so your legacy may live on. Please feel free to reach me at [email protected] if you so desire to share stories of Joseph. Thank you for giving the ultimate sacrifice. Rest in Peace, Firefighter Joseph Maloney.
