Nicholas Canuso

Nicholas Canuso was the Chief Engineer and a charter member of the Ocean View Volunteer Fire Company since it was incorporated in 1927. He suffered a heart attack shortly after driving the fire engine to the scene of an early morning blaze in Clermont.

This firefighter line of duty fatality occurred before the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial was built in Emmitsburg, Maryland. While this firefighter has not been officially honored at the Memorial site, there are plans to do so when resources are available.
