Raymond Meisenheimer‚ 46‚ firefighter‚ FDNY‚ Rescue 3. Meisenheimer‚ who had been looking forward to retiring at the end of 2001‚ began his fire-service career as a volunteer firefighter‚ paramedic‚ and EMT instructor in East Farmingdale‚ N.Y. He was a leading technical rescue expert and a member of the FEMA Urban Search & Rescue Team. Meisenheimer was in charge of the curriculum at the Suffolk Fire Academy‚ and a captain at the Hauppauge Fire Department.

– Kari KellarI had the honor to walk for Raymond at the 5th annual Stair Climb at Lambeau Field on September 16, 2017. In honor of him I got to ring the bell in his name when got to the equivalent of the 78 floor and finished to the 110th.

I loveed watching the video of Rudy’s wish of a lifetime in which he visited the 9/11 World Trade Center site. Today (9/15/2019) I walked in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in Wildwood, New Jersey. I wore a tag with Raymond’s picture on it and climbed in honor of him. I know years have passed but I want you to know that his and your family’s sacrifice is not forgotten. Ray was a student of mine in Tooker Avenue School, West Babylon NY. I know that his father was also a member of a fire department –when Ray was a student at Tooker Ave School, the local fire dept came over for an educational demonstration and I remember so well that Ray, standing in line with his class, was waving at his father with pride. I have a yearbook from Tooker Ave School 1962-63 which I would like to pass on to his family if wanted.

I rode with Ray on Rescue 3 on many occasions as a ride along, from 1989 until 2001. Ray was a Brother, and treated me with utmost respect coming from California to learn from the best, at FDNY, and he also grilled me on wildland firefighting and how the fire service operated quite differently in the Western US. I loved this man as a Brother due to our continued connection until his death in the WTC Killing in 2001.

I really think that I deserve him to be here and he has no reason to not be here. It is not fair to anyone or their families who have died because of them. He deserves to be here and so does everyone else that died or from cancer from 9/11. Them and their family’s don’t deserve that at all.
