Bobby was many things—a devoted husband, a loving father, a loyal brother, a true friend, and a proud firefighter. He and his wife, Patricia, were married in 1982 and built a beautiful life together, raising four children—Jacqueline, Christopher, Jennifer, and John—who were the pride and joy of his life.
Family was at the center of everything Bobby did. He was also a cherished brother to Thomas and Denise and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. His bond with those around him ran deep, rooted in love, humor, and generosity.
Those who knew Bobby will remember his infectious warmth and unwavering optimism. He had the kind of personality that could light up a room. Whether it was a beach day, a Yankees win, or a round of golf, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved to travel and often shared stories from his favorite adventures—Italy, Glacier National Park, and a cross-country trip with his daughter.
Bobby was also a man of service. For 23 years, he served with pride in the FDNY, working in Ladder 151, Engine 235, and “The Big House.” His fellow firefighters knew him as “Woody,” and they knew his dedication, courage, and quiet humility.
He had a special gift for making people feel seen, heard, and valued. He was a great listener, a wise advisor, and always ready with a quick-witted remark. He made friends wherever he went and told stories that always ended with a laugh.
Above all, Bobby loved being a husband, a dad, and a firefighter. He often said he felt lucky to have lived the life he did. And those who knew him feel lucky to have had him in ours.
As we remember Bobby today, let us honor him by living with the same kindness, courage, and humor that defined his life.
Bobby’s legacy lives on in every life he touched, in every story he told, in every lesson he shared. His spirit is not gone; it lives on in all of us.
