Rocky E. Dunkin

Rocky Edward Dunkin‚ age 24‚ of Friendship‚ Ohio‚ died Sunday July 1‚ 2012‚ at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born August 1‚ 1987‚ in Portsmouth‚ Ohio‚ to Rocky Lee (Renee Lynn) Dunkin and Alice (Normand) Bradley Tremblay. He was a 2006 graduate of New Boston High School‚ where he played soccer‚ baseball‚ and basketball. He attended Shawnee State University‚ where he played on the soccer team.

Rocky was a fireman with the New Boston Fire Department and served as a lieutenant in the Nile Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was an assistant coach for the New Boston High School soccer and baseball teams. He attended the 7th Street Christian Baptist Church in Portsmouth.

He enjoyed hunting‚ fishing‚ and golfing‚ and he loved working with kids. Rocky always enjoyed life‚ and you could always find him with a smile on his face. His passion for firefighting was at the top. Helping people was not something that he looked at as a job‚ but just what he thought was part of his calling.

Rocky was preceded in death by his grandparents‚ Mary and Eddie Dunkin‚ Emogene Goode‚ Carolyn Deaver‚ and George Stevens. Along with his parents‚ Rocky is survived by his wife‚ Ashley Michelle Stevens Dunkin‚ who he married on June 11‚ 2011‚ in West Portsmouth; two brothers‚ Paul Dwayne ‘AJ’ Foit and Ronald Lee Foit; four stepbrothers‚ Shane D.Adkins‚ Joshua S. Skaggs‚ Keith Trembley‚ and Normand Tremblay; two stepsisters‚ Dusty A. Blevins and Donna Tooill; his father and mother-in-law‚ Mike and Bev Stevens; brothers and sisters-in-law‚ Shawn and Katie Stevens‚ Michael and Ernie Stevens‚ and Heather and DJ Everman; several loving aunts‚ uncles‚ cousins‚ nieces‚ nephews‚ and friends.
